The Interview: Judd Saul

To be a pro gamer takes a lot of tenacity and risk. Like any sport, if you want to be the best and actually get paid to be a pro gamer, you have to practice, and you have to sacrifice. And most people including friends and family will ridicule you for trying. The best gamers have overcome adversity to get to where they are. But at the same time, most of them lack business sense and get into contracts they should have never signed.

The Interview: Arthur Lewis

Last year, we launched Alienware into China for the first time. We had over 400 media show up!! Every question I got was around “why did it take you guys so long.” To see the reach our Brand has, and to see how it’s valued in all of the different parts of the world where we didn’t even know people knew us is both amazing and humbling.

Community Profile: Single Gamers FTW

My first console was one of the original Sega’s. I ended up going the NES route and sticking with Nintendo for a long time. Switched back to Sega instead of Sony and then jumped to XBOX. I have always enjoyed all types of games; sports, action, RPG, etc. I generally enjoy playing on the computer more, just like Jose, but there are certain games that I just like to chill on the couch and play with a controller.

Community Profile: Game Casa

I started out gaming with classic arcade games and the Atari system. I spent many hours of my childhood at other people’s houses playing video games with other guys. It didn’t matter whether or not I really even liked them. If they had Nintendo, it was a sure bet they would get a knock on the door from me. I was like a Victorian-Era English Street Urchin, “Excuse me, might I come in for some Ninja Turtles?”

Community Profile: Meet A Gamer

What is gaming? Just kidding, I’ve been gaming since I was a really little kid started off playing Mario Bros series on the original Nintendo, when you had to blow into the cartridge of the game to get it to play. And I was really addicted to Excitebike that game had me going for hours. I finally moved on to Super Nintendo, Sega, and now the next generation consoles. I am really into the Call of Duty series now. I’ve tried out the Wii and Playstation 3 but it really isn’t for me. Those two consoles are collecting tons of dust right now!

The Interview: William D. Volk

I could see true greatness in the creativity of Rand and Robyn Miller (Cyan). The User Interface was just breakthrough. I was also a bit pissed at the delay of CD-I and wanted to send a message about that. Activision was recovering from the video game crash and wanted something that was ground breaking. Finally Stewart Alsop suggested that the Manhole would be an ideal CD-ROM title. He was right. ~William D. Volk

Glen VanDenBiggelaar: The Amiga Lounge

What I can tell you is we are at least a year away, and depending on actually outfitting the RV, it might be 2 years. The plan is to leave here (Edmonton, Alberta, and Canada) in October 2011 or October 2012 (to avoid the Canadian winter here). Besides the 4 or 5 Cameras on the RV, I will have a hand held, and I have already started making the documentary of the whole thing. Once the tour is complete, that Documentary will be put together and edited on an Amiga Video Toaster unit and the sales (about $10 each) will go to help recoup some of the cost of the Tour.

The Interview: Chris Tremmel

The process has become more complicated, usually requiring a large number of people to make something significant. The money involved in some of the triple A games is staggering with some budgets now reaching 100 million dollars. That naturally changes everything in terms of peoples priorities, and agendas. Sometimes for better, sometimes for worse.

LanSlide PC – Free Gaming Computer Help

At first, it might seem like helping people build their own computers or educating them about buying computers so they avoid buying parts they don’t really need would be detrimental to a gaming computer company. However, our stance is that a more educated public is a good thing for PC gaming overall. The PC world is often fraught with frustration, and we believe that helping people make good decisions about their computing needs will make them happier in the long run and lead to more positive experiences gaming on the PC.

Lineage A Crack of Time – Q&A

Our focus is on enhancements based on player feedback. We are in a unique situation where we have the option of catering to our players requests and we want to make sure they are given a game they will enjoy playing. We listen to their feedback, we watch their play patterns, and then we make tiny little adjustments to give them access to parts of the game which have become under used over the years. It’s amazing what a difference a tiny change can make.

Aion Assault on Balaurea – Q&A

Every MMO that I’ve ever played or worked on has always pursed balance, and I don’t think any of them ever achieved it. You tweak one thing here, and another thing breaks as a result. It’s a constant battle, but I think it’s one that we do well. When we see areas that need more balancing or bugs that need fixing, we respond to it as quickly as we can, and if needed report it directly to the development team if it’s something we can’t fix in house.

Zack Weddington – Viva Amiga

We think the film will be interesting to people who have never even heard of the Amiga, because it is the stories of the people involved with the Amiga which really drive the film. It’s also gonna have a hell of a lot of eye candy and awesome animation done by me and my other partner, David Kessler, a fellow video artist.

Tera Online Q&A

Brain Knox: When characters die in the game, they lose what we call “stamina.” Stamina can be regained quickly by spending gold, or you can heal your character’s stamina by resting near a campfire. Additionally, there is a chance that any enhancement crystals you placed into your character’s weapon or armor might break when you die. Upon death, your character respawns at the nearest campsite in full gear; there is no corpse retrieval or costly experience loss.
