Play as Rhodri in this exciting new platformer where you can not jump. Use the game’s mechanics to traverse levels and fight monsters in this exciting game. Although the levels are small, they are tough. Like a downgraded Super Meat Boy, these 40+ will keep you challenged for days!
The many faces of Jill Valentine
We all know here as one of the awesome heroines from the Resident Evil series. Here are some great cosplayers showing us the many faces of Jill Valentine.
Sonic 1 Coming to the 3DS
Hey, if you haven’t gotten your Sonic 1 fix on every other platform coming in about a week you will be able to get the classic game on your 3DS. Now this is considered a remake, but for the most part everything will stay the same except changes in the games background thanks to the features of the 3DS. If this isn’t enough Sonic news, Christian “The Taxman” Whitehead and Stealth are working on a Sonic 1 remake for Sega. Those of you who played Sonic CD on your smart phone should know about that team. Either way, soon there will be no place you cannot find a Sonic game to play.
Holosseum: Time Traveler
The game was released in 1991 by Sega and the overall story was that you were a cowboy and you are tasked to stop an evil scientist called Vulcor. Vulcor can manipulate time and so you have to travel to different time periods and undo the damage he has done, get to him and save the Princess of the Galactic Federation. Now the game was pretty expensive at the time. To play the game cost anywhere from 75 cents to a dollar which I guess was to pay for the over 40 actors they used in the filming of the game.
Falling Sand Game
Everyone needs a “break” at work and there are a ton of different games online worth checking out that will play on any system regardless of specs. This is one of my favorites from back in the day. It kind of reminds me of Zen garden, but here you can play around with different types of “sand”. You can build walls and pour in water, oil, set it on fire and just waste the day away. Just don’t let your boss catch you.
J.A. Laraque on 1337 Lounge Live!
I wanted more and I figured if you can get one profile then why not 100. We added profiles from small indie companies all the way up to people from Capcom and more, but then I said: How about celebrities. I am a big fan of the Jace Hall show and wanted to interview the man himself. We sent out e-mails, but he was very busy at the time working on his web series as well as the remake of V. For a time I thought I would never get his gamer profile, but then after several delays he promised to send one.
Odallus:The Dark Call
The idea of mixing exploration and action is always interesting. In some games like Allen Wake, it did not work so well running to collect book pages while trying to avoid being killed. However, in Odallus we are promised to be treated to intense battles not made for wussies while still maintaining an exploration based experience.
Sonic the Hedgehog Remastered
Coming in April the remastered version of Sonic the Hedgehog arranged by Christian “The Taxman” Whitehead will be available for the Android and iOS platforms. The cost will be three dollars and you can expect it to be a lot like Whitehead’s last release of Sonic CD. In addition, Sonic 2 will also be getting the remastered treatment soon.
Next Gen Xbox to play all PlayStation Games
“Let’s face it, we are an overpriced Blu-Ray player.” A Sony spokesman said. “Sure, we might feel like Xerox after seeing Windows, but when you are losing to a console named after a bodily function you have to make drastic changes.”
Did you Know: Mario Edition
Staying in the world of Mario Bros, in the original Super Mario Bros for the NES the clouds and bushes uses the same graphics. Yes, it is true, sometimes you need to save on artistry so why not turn a white cloud into a green bush (insert you own joke here. I bet most of you never even noticed.

Weird Games: X-Man
I don’t think Charles Xavier had this in mind when he created his school for gifted mutants, but then again, I guess if you can run naked through a maze avoiding teeth and scissors that could be considered at least, a special ability. In a nutshell (pun intended) that is what X-Man for the Atari 2600 is all about.
The William Volk Show
This week we were honored to talk with William D. Volk. You can read about some of his many accomplishments in the interview we did a few years back. We began our conversation with a brief history of how he got into gaming and his work at Avalon Hi, Activation and his current work at PlayScreen. Our conversation covered a wide array of topics from mobile gaming, the video game violence debate and how technology and games can help with learning and improving education.
Capcom Arcade Cabinet
Downloading an individual title or pack will also give access to the Capcom Arcade Cabinet ‘platform’ which provides additional features including DIP switch functionality, a music player, and the ability to capture and share screenshots or video. When playing in standard mode, players will be able to access DIP switch-like settings to adjust their number of lives and difficulty, including a Casual Mode which tones down the difficulty level and makes it more attainable to see the end credits. Further features include 2 player online play for certain titles; a global leaderboard; a training mode with infinite lives to hone your strategy and an option to select either the Japanese or international versions of the individual titles.
Impact: Gaming Communities
This week on OGS we talked with Casey Scheld from Raptr about how that community has grown over the past few years into successful gaming community where gamers can read reviews, share achievements, earn all types of goodies and just hang out and have fun. There have been a ton of gaming communities that have brought gamers together like Dwango, HEAT, Kali, Gamespy and Steam. On the panel, we discuss the impact these communities has had on gaming culture and the marriage of social media and gaming.
Jet Set Radio
All this holds up in the Android port however, what does not is the controls. Back on the Dreamcast it still took many a while to get used to the controls especially when preforming tricks to get to those hard to reach places. On the screen pad it is nearly impossible. Perhaps mobile gaming pros will have no issues, but if any game was made to go with a Bluetooth controller it is this one.
