MySpace Interview – Dutch Cap and the Rhythm Method

So, who are you anyway?
We are collectively known as Dutch Cap and the Rhythm Method. Individually we are Dutch Cap (lead singer/guitarist), Jimmy Changa (drums), and Manly Frank (keyboards/bass).

Describe your sound for us.
Reluctant father prog rock experimentalism. If you have to ask.

So you rate yourself then?
Indeed. We believe we are the only band in this genre. And the best.

Who are your influences?
Late Genesis.
Early Marillion.
Yes.
Super Tramp.
Dumpy’s Rusty Nuts.

Tell us one of your musical secrets.
Our drummer can’t play drums, but he can cook a mean Kung-Po chicken.

What’s in the future?
No more children. Or do you mean musically? We’re working on a concept album based on HG Wells’ The Time Machine. It’s gonna shit all over Jeff Wayne’s War of the Worlds.

What’s your claim to fame?
I once took magic mushrooms with Hank Wangford.

Musically, where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
I’m not sure we’re going to be together in 10 years time. Individually each of us is so talented that some solo projects will probably take over. Jimmy will probably take over his father’s Chinese restaurant, Manly will be writing jingles for obscure radio stations and I shall be working in the local guitar shop. Rock on!

Myspace or Facebook?
Myspace, all the way. Facebook is a waste of time.
