starfox – Obsolete Gamer

Your objective is to destroy all the enemies that are present on the map while trying to defend your home planet Corneria from enemy attacks. If the planets damage level reaches 100%, you have failed your mission and the game is over. To protect the planet you will have to destroy the fighters and incoming missiles that are headed toward the planet. To permanently prevent the attacks you have to deal with the planets with enemy bases that fire the missiles and the battleships that deploy the enemy fighter ships.

With little question or doubt either. It was easily the best looking PD so far, and it expanded the gameplay with 3 wing forms which could make you faster, or stronger, better shots, etc. The bosses were rather lamely designed visually, but were unique in a Japanese version of Tim Burton on crack kind of way. Despite my criticism, the boss fights were pretty fun, and the levels were like going on a visual roller coaster ride that used your mind and reflexes.

The Obsolete Gamer Show: Osama got Ganked

This week on the Obsolete Gamer Show we were joined in the studio by Mark who you may have seen from the Starfox gameplay video we did. The show began by talking about Sony’s recent hacking of their database where access to over 25 million accounts may have been gained. When then turned to our main topics of the night.
