Mario’s complete Gameography: Almost

Mario. Had a friend named Mario. Quite a weird bloke, mind you, but that’s not the point. Besides, this post is neither about my friends, nor Marios in general. It’s all about Nintendo’s Mario, and his appearances (in cameo, supporting or starring roles) on video games of all kinds. Quite a few as you should have guessed, and what follows are the ones I managed to find. The list -I am sure- is not a 100% complete, and even though I feel that almost every important game and most Mario appearances have been covered, there must be some obscure and/or well-known omissions. Please, let me know… Anyway, on to the…

  • You forgot to add ‘Mario Pro-Pimp Slapper’, the underground bootleg hit that starred Mario in the seedier side of the Mushroom Kingdom.

Wait, only official games count? Damn.

  • I knew I’d missed the important Mario-porn related stuff…

    Thanks ross ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • WOW! Super Mario Brothers… It’s funny I was thinking about Super Mario the other day. I must have played that with my boy’s back in the mid to late eighties (I lose track of the years) when it was just the first Super Mario Brothers. My boy’s always smoked me when we played. I still remember the music playing. That was another game we played off of the TV… a big advancement from Pong in the seventies. I used to think how amazing it was, and how advanced games had become back then… Little did I know computers, surround sound, and gaming with people all over the world via the internet was just around the corner…

Another interesting and informative post Gnome. ๐Ÿ™‚

Have yourself a good week.. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • You’ve obviously put a lot of effort into that post – it’s great. I had no idea there had been so many Mario related games released over the years. Truly staggering.

  • I spotted on that you missed, although it’s pretty tenuous…

In Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (GC) when Snake talks to Otacon after defeating the Ninja you can see two toys of Mario and Yoshi on top of a computer monitor.

Great article, I’m blogging about this!

  • Thanks a lot guys…. You’ll make me blush… And Jonic, thanks for the tip (quite amazing) and for your post.

  • If the hacks also include You can add the pirate edition on the Famicom: Mario Fighter III: The World Warrior, Pizza Pop! Mario or Mario Baby
