Free Stuff: Ultima V: Revisited

Richard Garriott’s Ultima V (this is indeed a 5) is an ultra classic, albeit dated, RPG. One of the rare gems of the late 80s and one of the first PC games I (or anyone else for that matter) ever enjoyed, in the long forgotten era of CGA graphic cards and 8088 based PCs. Contemporary and especially younger gamers would never be able to understand how grand such a game could feel, even though they would surely appreciate Ultima V: Lazarus.

C64 nostalgia

Remember the legendary C64? Remember the loading problems? The impressive color graphics? Actually I don’t, but I am not the disrespectful type. I do know what C64 meant (and means) to a lot of people. And those people (and us of course) are in for a treat.

The Pirates Cove: Famicom Carts 2

Behold are the pirate carts Street Fighter IV and Adventure Island 2. These were a nice addition to my pirate Famicom collection because of Street Fighter IV. The game is really hard to come by making it rare but also it’s a rare game that’s worth every penny because it’s one of the best fighters for the Famicom. This game is so great you can even fight using the playboy bunnies!

Bubble Bobble: Game Gallery

Among them was splendid Retro Gamer forum user, Tepid Snake, who helped me get past Round 98, on which I’d been stuck for a few days. It was then that I discovered that those crafty scoundrel’s at Taito don’t give you the proper ending unless you finish the game with two players. So back I went to complete the game again, after adding a few credits for a non-existent second player, so I could detail the ‘proper’ ending here. Then I find out that I’ve still not earned the full ending! To do that I have to decipher the mysterious code that I received on earning the ‘Happy Ending’, but I think I’ll leave that for another time! Taito sure know how to get the most out of a game, huh? As I mentioned in my review, this is a game full of intricacies and secrets!

The Obsolete Gamer Show: Rants and Rewind

Soon however, we began talking about companies and how they market to gamers including releasing bugged content and forcing people to download additional content to make more money. From there we went into a rant about Activision and Sony Online Entertainment, but hey, there were valid points in there and a lot of funny, which is good.

Classic PC Games Collection

This PC game is still my favorite of all. Supposedly this is the only keen game that was released in boxed form so this makes me kinda of sad because I won’t find any other boxes as amazing as this one. The game is still sealed as well so I did the same thing I did with Lotus and downloaded the shareware. The box art for this game is just amazing!!!!! AWAAA!! moving on…
