To be fair to the last one, Tiny/Ryu Nakanishi from Battle of The Planets/Gatchaman wasn’t particularly small anyway…
The last ‘spiderman’ is particularly creepy, though.

While most of these are absolutely ridiculous, the ladies in number two did a pretty good job. They are terribly overweight, but they look inoffensive compared to the majority of cosplayers at a usual convention. Even cute- they did a really good job on their outfits and accessories. They look like they’re having a great time. Number three isn’t really bad either- she’s not perfectly suited for her costume nor the societal standard of womanly perfection, but she was probably proud of herself for being able to “pull off” (if you don’t want to say she did, that’s fine) such an audacious character.
Others weren’t even too horrible- the pink porring(?) from RO was probably super funny to people who got the joke. That person probably had a ton of people come up and take their picture and laugh at them, which is what was the wearer wanted. GigerPunk said that the last one also made sense for the character they were portraying.
Some of the rest were so terrible that they warrant mocking or wore the costumes for the implicit purpose of getting laughs.

Could be that I live in a place that’s too friendly, which I guess makes sense, considering that whenever I see these posts I rarely see any kind of sympathy for the subjects of derision.

Hey, its all in fun. I personally have no issue with cosplays, but as a big guy myself there is just some things one should not wear.

Oh man, I remember my first comic con… I’m a slightly bigger guy (not that big though) so dressing up as Henchman 21 was reasonable and not disturbing at all, but as I walked through I started to feel really good about myself…

Seriously, you will see some really good ones and some that just need costume work, but about 75% of the people there are overweight and should not be dressing in skimpy outfits… Especially the obese, hairy guy I saw dressed up as Zangeif… Cannot, unsee, the, horror…

I gotta say though, the Wonder Woman one is actually pretty funny with the ridiculous hair.
